Haney Technical Center Hurricane Repairs - As a consequence of Hurricane Michael, three buildings on the campus of Haney Technical Center need to be demolished. A new 32,000 square foot classroom facility is planned to replace the demolished buildings. This new 2-story building will house the premier programs associated with the school including the main administrative offices and classrooms for Computer Systems and Information Technology; Nursing; Massage Therapy and Office/Medical Administration. This building will also house a small Career Source suite that is affiliated with the local Gulf Coast State College. Tyndall Academy Hurricane Repairs - Due to Hurricane Michael damage, Tyndall Elementary School’s Building 8 was damaged beyond repair and has since been demolished with the exception of the building’s slab. The school will be expanding to include grades 6-8. In order to accommodate the additional grade levels, a new two-story classroom building (18,600 square feet per floor, 37,200 total square feet) will be built and is planned to utilize the existing building slab. The new two-story building will include classrooms, restrooms and a small administration suite as well as an elevator and associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and IT. This building is the first phase of several phases of the Master Plan to expand the campus to accommodate all the required grades 6-8 facility spaces and functions. Construction is to begin in late 2020. |
