Description

This project can be generally described as the asphalt reconstruction of the center 50-foot wide by 500-foot long keel section on the northernmost end of Runway 18L-36R. The Runway is 12,504 feet long and 200 feet wide. The project is adjacent to the Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) Pavement of Runway 18L, extending for 500’ South of this PCC/Asphalt Pavement interface. This project will consist of the complete removal and reconstruction of the asphalt pavement in the center 50-foot width of this section. The ‘keel’ replacement provides the reconstruction of the central and most critical portion of the Runway used by the design aircrafts’ main gears. This allows the Runway to properly serve the airport for at least another 20 years. The affected Runway 18L-36R centerline pavement markings within the project limits will be replaced, as-is
