Description

LIBERTYVILLE PROJECT NUMBER - 2214 The work consists of for replacement and/or rehabilitation of water and sewer systems which include the following major work items: replacement of approximately 1,800 feet of 8" DIP water main, 650' of 12" HDPE water main, valves, fire hydrants, water service connections, sanitary and storm sewer open cut repair, drainage structures, temporary pavement & sidewalk rehabilitation and related items in the Village of Libertyville. The work will be installed with both directional drill and open cut methods. Alternate 1 work includes the additional replacement of 120 feet of 12" DIP within the existing pipe casing, 90' of open-cut 12" DIP water main, valves, fire hydrants, and additional related times as described in the project documents. All bids offered must be accompanied by bid security in the form of cash, certified check or bid bond made payable to the Village of Libertyville in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the aggregate of the bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance of the contract properly secured. Electronic bid bonds will be accepted as part of this bid. State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, Contractor Pre-Qualification and Subcontractor Registration is required. The Village of Libertyville reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, to award all or part of a contract, and to make such awards as are in the best interests of the Village of Libertyville. Factors other than price which will be considered in awarding or rejecting bids shall include the results of reference contacts, and the quality of the bidder's performance on prior projects, if any, in the judgment of the Village of Libertyville. All proposals submitted shall be valid for a period of 60 days. Unless all bids are rejected, the contract award will be made to the lowest responsive responsible bidder. Bidders who are awarded a contract shall be required to provide a Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance Bond, each in the total amount of the contract sum upon execution of the contract. The successful bidder is required to pay the general prevailing wage for work under this Contract as ascertained by the Illinois Department of Labor, and shall submit certified payroll records, in compliance with the Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130) and the requirements of the Bidding Documents.
