Description

Dryer 1, the Contractor will remove the existing ring and pinion gears, assess their capabilities to provide continuous service, and reinstall in a flipped alignment if deemed worthy of ongoing service. The scope of work includes performing an alignment survey that includes the rotary drum, tires, trunnions, bearings, thrust rollers, motors, and gears, including backlash. The Contractor will determine the roundness of the rotary drum, tires, trunnions, and gears to assess their long-term integrity and will address any alignment concerns to optimize the dryer operation and reduce premature equipment wear. Also, the Contractor will recondition the surfaces of both inlet and outlet tires and all four (4) trunnions. The Contractor will complete work within 200 days after the Notice to Proceed
