Description | Question Acceptance Deadline 02/21/2023 02:00 PM EST Questions are submitted online No The Town of Pagosa Springs is accepting proposals from multi-disciplined individuals and/or restoration contractor services for the Rumbaugh Creek Bridge Restoration Project- Phase Two including Trail Bridge Structure, De-construction and Re-construction of multiple retaining walls, guardrail installation, site grading and site restoration. General Requirements - Bidder Prequalification/Preregistration Required - Contractors License Required - Insurance Required - License Required Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment and labor to perform all work in accordance with the engineered construction plans contained in Exhibit A, attached herein, and the following scope of work items: a. Mobilization of equipment to the site and stored in areas approved by the Town. b. Removal of existing culvert pipe north of, south of and on top of Stone Arch bridge structure, within the project area. c. Install Trail Bridge Structure over the top of the Stone Arch Bridge including placement of PVC membrane, Mairfli 180N geotextile fabric and 4" slab void. Trail bridge concrete pier locations shall be hydro-vacuumed prior to drilling or excavation to ensure no interference with existing stone arch horizontal ground anchors. d. The Contractor must photograph existing wingwall/retaining wall to document the coursing of the existing stone wall. e. Deconstruct the existing historic retaining wall along the southeastern side of the Rumbaugh Creek Bridge, approximately 15 lineal feet. The Contractor shall reclaim existing retaining wall stones for reconstructing the wall per the design in Exhibit A to ensure the historic stone placement pattern is maintained. Stones shall be cleaned to aid in relaying and mortaring. f. Remove any remaining stones from the former NE retaining wall and stockpile for re-use for the new retaining wall facade. Construction of the new retaining wall using the designed foundation pier system as described in Exhibit A and constructing the Dakota sandstone veneer wall using the retained and additional natural Dakota sandstone blocks, to be placed in a similar appearance as the original historic wall. Grout material and color shall be approved by the Town to ensure the same mortar type is used based on a geotechnical analysis of the existing historic mortar. h. Stabilization and/or reconstruction of the eastern spandrel wall above the bridge arch to match existing. Install Guard Railing using weathering steel. This railing shall be similar to other Town trail guardrail and handrail designs and the Town shall approve all design considerations. The included railing design contemplates vertical balusters versus the horizontal balusters on other Town trail railings. j. Install Cap Stones on retaining wall and spandrel wall. k. Contractor shall re-grade the construction area including the access areas with slopes not to exceed 1.75%, ensuring positive drainage away from historic stone tank structure. l. Revegetation of all disturbed areas with a native seed mix. m. Demobilize equipment and clean area of all construction materials and debris. n. Contractor shall coordinate all activities with the Town to ensure required construction inspections occur as identified: o Archaeology Monitoring during excavation activities, conducted by town Consultant/Contractor. o Concrete form/rebar inspections prior to pouring concrete. o Geotechnical testing of concrete shall be conducted by the Contractor's geotechnical engineer. o Mortar type and color approval required by the Town prior to installation. o Ledger inspection. o Veneer wall installation inspections to occur at each 30" lift. o Other items as identified. |
