F--Veg Management & Mit Area Caretaker Srv

The Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Region, has a need for vegetation management and mitigation area caretaker services for the Animas La Plata Project (ALP). The ALP Project is located in La Plata and Montezuma counties in southwestern Colorado. The purpose of the ALP Project is to implement the Colorado Ute Indian Water Rights Settlement Act of 1988, as amended by the Colorado Ute Settlement Act Amendments of 2000. The ALP Project consists of the Ridges Basin area, including Ridges Basin Dam and Lake Nighthorse, and the 6,000-acre Mitigation Area. Lake Nighthorse was developed as an off-stream reservoir in Ridges Basin to store approximately 123,541 acre-feet of water. Pumping of the Animas River to fill the reservoir was completed in July 2011. Basin Creek will be used to convey ALP Project water back to the Animas River for downstream delivery for municipal and industrial uses. The objective of this contract is to acquire contractor services to: 1) control invasive plant species in the Animas-La Plata (ALP) Project area, including Ridges Basin and the Mitigation Area, 2) complete revegetation and restoration activities, where necessary, for the same project area, and 3) provide reseeding services, fence repair, ditch maintenance, irrigation, water tank maintenance, and site boundary and trespass patrols for the Mitigation Area.
