Description

Bids will be accepted until the specified opening time and date. Any bidder attempting to deliver after the opening time and date will be refused. Each bidder shall submit with his bid the information specified in the bid documents for compliance with the laws of the State of Illinois on Fair Employment Practices and with the City of Rockford's Ordinance on Equal Employment and Business Opportunity. Any bid which fails to include the compliance items properly completed will not be read and will not be considered. All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The City of Rockford reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals and to waive technicalities. Scope- The project consists of a room build-out installing chemical treatment, temporary filtration equipment, repurposing an existing clear well to function as a backwash tank, and improvements to the active clear well in Well House 9 for the City of Rockford. The work will include installation of Hydrofluorosilicic Acid (HFA) bulk and day tanks, transfer pumps, metering pumps, monitoring equipment, plumbing, electrical panelboards, wiring, and power, and associated fixtures and equipment for assembling a complete and operational HFA injection system for the water treatment works at Well House 9. The polyphosphate chemical injection improvements will consist of a new metering pump, level transducer, and level indicator. The work for the temporary filtration equipment will include site improvements such as a concrete pad for the filter trailer, water piping, repurposing an existing clear well to function as a backwash tank, electrical improvements, removing and replacing structural beams and steps in an active clear well and other related work identified in the plans. The instruments and equipment for integration into the existing SCADA system will be installed, but the integration work will be done by the City of Rockford. Coordination will be required by the Contractor with the City of Rockford in order to coordinate brining the facility online.
