Description | Base Bid – Replacement/installation of 18,600 linear feet of PVC water main (Engineers Est. $4,000,000) • Additive Bid No. 1 – Replacement/installation of 5,300 linear feet of PVC water main (Engineers Est. $1,000,000) • Additive Bid No. 2 – Replacement/installation of 1,270 linear feet of PVC water main (Engineers Est. $300,000) • Additive Bid No. 3 – Replacement/installation of 3,400 linear feet of PVC water main (Engineers Est. $800,000) • Alternate Bid No. 1 – Provides pricing for using Ductile Iron water main in lieu of PVC Bids will be received for Contract No. 1A - General Construction (inclusive of Base, Additive, and Alternate Bid items). Work under the Base Bid generally consists of approximately 20,000 feet of 6-inch and 8-inch water main replacement. Work under Additive Bid No. 1 generally consists of approximately 5,250 feet of 6-inch and 8-inch water main replacement. Work under Additive Bid No. 2 generally consists of approximately 1,500 feet of 6-inch water main replacement. Work under Additive Bid No. 3 generally consists of approximately 3,750 feet of 8-inch water main replacement. Alternate Bid No. 1 provides unit pricing for substituting PVC water main (Base Bid) with Ductile Iron water main. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed Bid Form and accompanied by Bid security, as prescribed in the Instructions to Bidders. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish the additional bond(s) prescribed in the Bidding Documents. In order to perform public work, the Successful Bidder and Subcontractors prior to contract award shall hold or obtain such license as required by State statutes, and Federal and local Laws and Regulations. Bids will not be accepted from Bidders that have been barred from competing on public works under General Municipal Law 5A-103-b. Purchases made by the Village of Little Valley are not subject to any Federal, State or local sales tax. Bidders shall not include in their bid sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials. Exemption certificates will be executed upon request. The Village of Little Valley strongly encourages Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises and Section 3 Firms to submit a bid. The Owner's right is reserved to reject all Bids or any Bid not conforming to the intent and purpose of the Bidding Documents. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all parties recorded as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. Addenda will be issued at least five (5) days prior to the date of Bid opening. |
