Description

The renovation of the Center will modernize the building and create more inviting and functional interior spaces which may include reconfiguration of the lobby, meeting rooms and staff offices. The scope of work will also include new roof system, lighting, new HVAC system, window replacement, interior finishes including new flooring, room partitions, cabinetry replacement, security system upgrades including installation of cameras, mechanical and plumbing upgrades, new ceilings as necessary, and ADA access barrier removal. The Center has a swimming pool that is approximately 40' x 75' concrete lined in-ground pool and a 20' x 45' concrete block pool house enclosed with security grade chain link fencing. The pool structure, decking, pool house, and pumping-drainage systems must be upgraded to meet the requirements of a Class “B” pool for general public recreational use. Renovation of the pool includes the following: 1. Removal and replacement of the piping, filters, drains, sumps, and pumps; 2. Installation of additional return ports to meet flow rate requirements; 3. Repair existing pool structure where damaged; 4. Provide new pool liner and edge banding tile; and, 5. Remove and replace the existing pool deck where required for the replacement of the above equipment and piping. The renovation project at Booker T. Washington Community Center (the “Project”) located at 401 Monroe Street & 1479 Jefferson Street, Macon-Bibb, Georgia 31201. The Project is to complete interior and exterior renovations of the Center and the restoration of the swimming pool.
