Description | The contractor questionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening. The proposed work includes: Removal and replacement of failed concrete panels in the following subdivisions: Valley Oaks Plat 1, Valley Oaks Plat 2, Silver Maple View and Creekside. Optional bid alternatives for Biltmore Drive and Walters Place will be included in the scope of work dependent on pricing and budget. The project includes, but is not limited to, the following construction activities: removal of existing concrete panels and poor subgrade material, placement of Type 5 Aggregate for base, furnishing and placing new concrete, crack/joint sealing at newly installed panels, and setting up traffic control devices to handle vehicle traffic and parking within and around the construction work zone. Work shall be in accordance with the provided Specifications, Job Special Provisions, and Plans. Where not specifically covered by the Specifications, or Job Special Provisions or Plans, the Contractor shall adhere to the currently effective 2021 Edition of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, and the currently effective MoDOT Standard Plans for Highway Construction. All work must be complete by October 1st, 2022. Plans and specifications for this project will be available, at no cost, downloadable files from the Jefferson County website, beginning Friday, May 20th, 2022. The bidder will be responsible to check the Countys website for addendum(s) regarding this project prior to bid opening. All potential bidders must complete the Plan Holder Contact Information form and submit this form to Public Works at pwprojects@jeffcomo.org and request placement on the bidder's list. All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work, of a similar character in this locality, as established by the State of Missouri's Annual Wage Order that is currently in effect at least 10 calendar days prior to bid opening. Jefferson County, Missouri hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award. All bidders must be on MoDOTs Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2021 Edition. The contractor questionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening. Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on any public works project must provide a minimum 10-Hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project. A certificate of insurance shall be submitted with each proposal. All bids shall be made on the forms provided. Three (3) copies of the bid must be submitted, one (1) being original inked. Jefferson County, Missouri reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the bids received, and to award the contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder.
