Description | As of October 27, 2022, an architect has been selected and this project is in the design phase. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to May 2023. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: This project consists of repairing three of four exterior stairs on the University Center, which is an existing twostory building on the campus of the University of New Orleans. Repairs include removing asbestos containing materials, evaluating and replacing deteriorated structural steel building components and removing precast concrete panels and porcelain tile. New work will include fireproofing, light gauge framing, a stucco system, flashing, waterproofing, new cast stone caps and an ADA-compliant aluminum guardrail system One of the four stairs has been repaired and the construction documents will be made available to the Designer for reference. Design services and fees are based on, and limited to, Program Completion through Construction Documents (60%). At Owners option, the contract may be amended to include additional phases with corresponding fee and time adjustment. The Designer shall prepare and submit all required drawings to Facility Planning & Control in AutoCAD and hard copy. Drawings shall follow the format specified in the Instructions to Designers for AutoCAD Drawings Submittal. Contract design time is 180 consecutive calendar days; including 60 days review time. Thereafter, liquidated damages in the amount of $100.00 per day will be assessed. Further information is available from David Poche, Facility Planning & Control, david.poche@la.gov, (504)568-8547.
