Description

Bid Scope of Work Western Carolina University is requesting an A/V System upgrade of the Film Viewing and Men’s & Women’s Basketball Locker Rooms. In conjunction with a manufacturing consultant the following outline is detailed for the scope of work. It is broken out into the following systems: • Film Viewing Room • Men’s Player Lounge • Women’s Player Lounge • Men’s Locker Room • Women’s Locker Room Film Viewing Room Original Designer Notes • Will include replacement of the existing projection and audio system. • The rear of the room will be reconfigured as a work area for the basketball video team. • The film room will host the equipment rack containing the audio digital-signal-processing and audio distribution systems for the Locker Room spaces • New capabilities include a large, touch interactable display with convenient options for the athletics staff to display and annotate content within the room A/V Notes • This room will have one 86” display. The intent of this display is to have touchscreen capabilities, presentation pointer to work on screen, localized A/V input and screen sharing. Overhead speakers will be used to connect to the display for theater surround sound. Two computer monitors will be located at the work area that will have docking stations for laptop use. • Space is intended to support high fidelity playback and film review with an Extron Touch annotator providing athletics staff the ability to provide “just in time” annotation of footage. Other, more elaborate annotation will be prepared ahead of time and included as part of pre-edited clips. Extron annotation is just intended to provide additional options to address in-room needs and not intended to be a full substitute for more complex clip preparation and annotation. • Athletics staff intended to provide this playback through an in-room computer. • Additional request was made after the initial reference design was commissioned to provide the ability to handle basic video conferencing in this space through the primary display. Athletics staff can provide additional feedback on this need through the bid process to assist with incorporating this functionality into the final design. Men's Player Lounge Original Designer Notes • To be outfitted with entertainment options such as televisions and game consoles. • The room will be set up as a local audio zone with default audio from the local Television, but other sources will be available from the other zones • The audio in this room should be isolated as much as possible to prevent spillover into the Men's Locker Room. A/V Notes • This room will have two 60” displays. The intent of zone one is to play video games, watch TV, use streaming services and the ability to sync and play what is displayed on the Locker Room TV. This zone will be connected to the ceiling mounted speakers for louder sound quality. The intent of zone two is to watch TV. The TV speakers/soundbar will be used for the audio of this TV. • Overhead speakers will be ceiling mounted; the intent of the speakers is to connect to zone one for listening to music, video games, TV, and steaming services. These speakers should have the routing flexibility to connect to the locker room speakers to sync and play the same thing in both rooms when needed and to disconnect and play separately when designated to do so. • This room will need a port and receiver for phone and laptop hookups to audio and both TVs. Power outlets should be dispersed throughout the room for charging of various equipment. Women’s Player Lounge Original Designer Notes • The room will be set up as a local audio zone with default audio from the local television, but other sources will be available from the other zones. The audio in this room should also be isolated as much as possible to prevent spillover into the Women's Locker Room. A/V Notes • This room will have one 60” display.
