Henry Peters, 4th Floor, Air Handler Replacement

This project is a maintenance air handler replacement project. The existing air handler serving the 4th and 5th floors of Henry Peters is beyond its service life and shall be replaced. The work shall involve, but not be limited to, an air handler demolition, demolition and new work involving the air handler concrete equipment pad, repair and coatings for the mechanical room floor and walls, a new air handler installation, chilled water piping demolition and installation, steam piping demolition and installation, miscellaneous piping work due to interferences, electrical power circuits for the new air handler, and, a Siemens DDC control system for the new equipment. UAB has pre-purchased an air handler for this project. The Mechanical Contractor shall receive the air handler at their shop, off-load the air handler, store the air handler until the time of installation, transport the air handler to UAB, install the air handler and perform the air handler start-up. The spaces this air handler serves shall be occupied during the time of the demolition and construction work. Work shall proceed in a manner to minimize the onsite demolition and construction time. Work shall also proceed in a manner so as not to interfere with the occupants of the floor.
