Description

Canal Pipes: Painting the pipes include removing the fans and P.R.V. boxes, if they have them, sandblast, paint pipe and all metal (fans and boxes) and then reinstalling the fans and P.R.V. boxes. Sandblasting will be done to the SSPC-SP-6 Commercial Blast Standards using a crushed glass aggregate. Paint all metal with one coat of epoxy primer and a top coat of an acrylic-aliphatic urethane, UV protected, color to be determined. Paint thickness is: 1. 4 to 5 mils DFT on the epoxy primer. 2. 2 to 3 mils DFT on the urethane top coat. 3. 1500 W 12800 S, approx. 30 LF, 10” pipe. 4. 13759 S 1300 W (lovers Ln), approx. 35 LF, 12” pipe, has two fans. 5. 13800 S 2200 W Approx. 30 LF. 10” pipe. This crossing has a P.R.V. box. 6. 13400 S 2200 W (Filter Bank) Approx. 120 LF. 20” and 10” pipe with scaffolding. Contractors will want to meet Curtis at this location to determine what needs to be painted. 7. 13035 S 2200 W Approx. 40 LF 8” pipe. This location has a fence around one side so contractors will want to look at this. 8. 13750 S 3200 W Approx. 41 LF 20” pipe, has two fans. 9. 13400 S 3200 W Approx. 23 LF 8” Pipe. 10. All painting (tank and pipes) will require Contractor to mask and protect all areas that are not to be painted; clean up and remove all material and site location after complete.
