Pipeline 2019-2020 Timber Sale

This is a third row logger select thinning of planted slash on approximately 185 acres and a clearcut of all merchantable sand pine timber and the thinning of slash and pond pine on approximately 378 acres within Seminole State Forest, located in Lake County, Florida. In the thinning area, timber available for harvest includes merchantable slash pine in every third row, with select trees within the leave rows. Timber to be removed from the leave rows includes diseased, deformed, defective, forked and suppressed trees as well as a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant to leave 50-60 square feet of basal area per acre. Leave tree are not to be harvested or damaged. Timber available for harvest in the clearcut area includes all merchantable sand pine (mulch and pulpwood) that is standing, leaning, damaged, or downed and select slash pine and pond pine on the edges of wetlands as designated by the Forester-In-Charge. The purchaser will not be required to harvest timber that is not merchantable but will be encouraged to harvest all sand pine that can be utilized. Longleaf pine within the sale boundaries is not to be harvested unless designated by the Forester-in-Charge. The sale boundaries are designated by distinct stand type changes, roads, firebreaks, fences and painted boundary trees. The estimated volume for this sale is 12,275 tons of pine pulpwood/mulchwood.
