Description | Rehabilitation of the depression air compression system. This system is integral to Big Bend’s ability to operate in synchronous condensing mode, as it provides the compressed air required to depress the water level in the draft tube to a point below the turbine runners. There are currently four Ingersoll Rand XF-75 Rotary Screw air compressors, three being water cooled, and one being air cooled. The current compressors are rated for 315 CFM at 100 psi. It is anticipated for this requirement that two compressors will be retained and two will be replaced. The new compressors are to be rated at 150 hp and 812CFM at 115psi capacity. |
