Route 458/1055 Road and Drainage Improvements

The contract will be awarded (or the bids rejected) at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Douglas County Board of County Commissioners within 30 days after the opening of the bids. Douglas County Project 2016-17 consists of replacing all Cross Road Structures with Pre-Cast RCB s or Concrete Pipe, ditch reconstruction, flattening out of fore slopes, 100% new Aggregate Base, 8 of new HMA-Base, 2 of new HMA-Surfacing (PG70-28), Asphalt/Aggregate Entrances on N1000 RD, and Aggregate Shouldering. Reconstructing intersections at N1000/E1500 RD & N1000/E1600 RD. Adding a Turn Lane at N1000/E1600 RD. Milling (2 Nominal), HMA-Commercial Grade Patching, and HMA-Surfacing (PG70-28), and Aggregate Shouldering on E1600 RD from N0940 to N1000 RD. Project 2016-17 is located on Route 458 (N1000 Road) between E1500 and E1600 Roads approximately 3 miles south of Lawrence, KS. The anticipated Notice to Proceed is March 6, 2023. The late Notice to Proceed is May 1, 2023. This contract has 150 working days to be completed. Bidders are required to register as a vendor and submit bids at portal. The bid shall contain all information required by the solicitation, priced as required, and submitted no later than the exact opening time and date specified (unless extended by addendum). No other method of submitting bids will be accepted. Late submissions will not be permitted Each bidder shall be required to deposit with such bidder s bid a CERTIFIED CHECK, CASHIER'S CHECK or a BID BOND for not less than Five Percent (5%) of the base bid as a guarantee that if awarded the Contract, the bidder will enter into a Contract and give bond as required. Said check or bid bond shall be made payable to the Douglas County Treasurer. The Board of County Commissioners of Douglas County, Kansas reserves the right to reject nonconforming bids and to waive technicalities, and to award the contract to the bidder which is the lowest responsible bidder.
