Description

Project involves the expansion of the High Service Pump Station 3-1 from a total capacity of 350 MGD to 450 MGD, which includes the installation of two (2) new 50 MGD pumps in the Pump 5 and Pump 8 locations, each with new motors controlled by adjustable frequency drives (AFDs). The existing Pump 5 pump and motor controlled by soft starter will be relocated to the Pump 9 location. New pump control valves, piping and associated appurtenances, structural supports and access platforms, and electrical and instrumentation equipment will be installed to support the Pump 8 and Pump 9 pumping units. The project also includes the construction of a new electrical building north of the existing pump station to house the proposed AFDs and associated electrical equipment.
