Description | This project involves retrofit of an existing Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) vault located in Federal Way, WA. The existing vault lid will be removed and replaced with a custom lid, and the access into the vault will be relocated from the south side to the east side of the vault. The work will also include installation of new prefabricated access ladder, replacement of the existing PRV valve in kind with a new valve, and replacement of associated pipe and valve appurtenances (e.g., flange coupling adapter, two corps, etc.). Contractor shall do all demo and restoration work necessary to accomplish the afore mentioned work and to return the site to its current condition post-construction. Written answers to all questions submitted will be posted on or about Wednesday, November 9, 2022 Each bid for construction must be accompanied either by a certified or cashier's check for 5 percent of the total amount bid, including tax, payable to the City Treasurer, or an approved bid bond, by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Washington, for 5 percent of the total amount bid. The person legally authorized to sign the bid must sign all bid bonds. The approved bid bond form attached to these Specifications should be used: no substantial variations from the language thereof will be accepted Except as modified by the Special Provisions, the Respondent to whom the Contract is awarded shall provide a payment and performance bond, including power of attorney, for 100 percent of the amount of his/her bid (including sales taxes), to insure complete performance of the Contract including the guarantee. The bonds must be executed by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Washington. For a supply-type contract, a cashier's check or cash may be substituted for the bonds; however, this cash or cashier's check must remain with the City through the guarantee period and any interest on said amount shall accrue to the City The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive minor deviations or informalities, and if necessary, call for new bids. |
