| Description | The needs have changed for the waiting room 2C29 at Eastern State Hospital, due to increased abuse to finishes. Existing paneling and drywall from all walls will be removed and replaced with plywood backing and high-impact gypsum board, then painted with epoxy paint. The sheet vinyl flooring will be replaced with a resinous flooring. The existing window and door sidelite will be replaced with monolithic safety glass that cannot be shattered or scratched. As indicated in detail below, electrical and mechanical fixtures will be upgraded to withstand abuse and prevent provision of objects that can be used for harm. With the addition of monolithic glass between the waiting area and staff areas, an intercom will be provided for communication to patients. |
