Description | Edifice LLC, Construction Manager, will accept sealed bids for the CMS Bruns Academy. The project will be approximately 103,900 and will be constructed with multiple volume spaces serving K-5 students and will include an approximate 15,000 sf of partnership space with Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation. Single story spaces and a three-story classroom wing will be used for the structure. The building program will include 45 classrooms, dining, kitchen, office, and media center spaces for the school. All questions and/or clarifications should be addressed to the Construction Manager, who will then correspond with the Design team, as required, for answers and clarifications. Only pre-qualified bidders may obtain complete sets of plans, specifications, and bid manual. Other interested second and third tier subcontractors and suppliers must submit quotes to the pre-qualified trade contractors. Formal Trades Packages Bidding: - 05-001 Steel - 07-001 Roofing - 08-001 Doors, Frames, Hardware - 23-001 HVAC - 26-001 Electrical - 31-001 Sitework A second bid opening will be held on October 4, 2022, at 3:00 pm at the same location for any formal bid packages that are not able to be opened at the first bid opening. Bidders must be properly licensed under all state laws, regulations, and ordinances governing the respective trades and work to be performed. The General Statutes of the State of North Carolina applicable to license requirements, submission of bids, and of public contracts shall be observed in the receiving of bids and awarding of contracts for the work. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid amount shall be submitted with each formal bid of $100,000 or greater. In addition, bid security is required with each formal trade package bid for any two (or more) trade packages that total $100,000 or greater. The bid security shall be in the form of a bid bond, a cashier's check, or a certified check on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation made payable to Edifice LLC. The apparent low responsible, responsive bidder shall have their bid security held by Edifice LLC until the Trade Contractor agreement is executed, and all required documentation and materials are received and approved by Edifice LLC. All requested documentation and materials must be provided to Edifice LLC by the trade contractor in less than 10 days from acceptance of trade package contract by Edifice LLC. Failure to provide any documentation will be grounds for rejection of the bid. Bonding requirements for the project: The ability to provide Payment and Performance Bonds is required on all subcontracts of $100,000 or greater. In addition, the ability to provide Payment and Performance Bonds is required on any two (or more) trade packages that total $100,000 or more. Performance and Payment Bonds will be for the full amount of the contract and will be submitted prior to executing the work. This requirement is subject to the judgment and direction of the Owner and Construction Manager. All Pre-qualified bidders are required to seek Women, Minority, Small Business Enterprise (WMSBE) participation. The minimum goal for this project is 21% participation (10% MBE, 6% WBE, 5% SBE) No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after receipt of bid. The CM and Owner reserve the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all irregularities or informalities in any bid as allowed by applicable law and to award any contract to other than low bidder should it be deemed in their best interest. |
