If the proposal is accepted and the bidder is declared "not responsive," it is hereby agreed that the amount of the proposal guaranty will become the property of the State of Illinois and shall be considered as payment of damages due to the delay and other causes suffered by the State because of the failure to adhere to the procedures required. Otherwise, the bid bond will become void, or the proposal guaranty check will be returned to the bidder. ILDOT - 134 - Remove and Replace Two Structures Carrying Reas Bridge Road The work included in this contract consists of: (1) The complete removal of a three-span steel beam bridge on closed abutments and the six-span bridge on spill thru abutments, (2) the construction of a new two-span 48" web plate girder beam and 3-span 48" web plate girder beam structures on integral abutments and concrete encased concrete piers structures with 0 degree skew, (3) alignment shift and profile adjustment, (4) new 4-lane PCC pavement transitioning to 2-lane hot-mix asphalt roadway, (5) construction of a bike path, and (6) erosion control and other collateral work necessary to complete the improvement of Reas Bridge Road in accordance with the plans and as specified herein.
