Description | Question and Answers: Submit Questions to Adam Manne E-mail amanne@pwcgov.org Prince William County is issuing a Request for Information to gauge interest from qualified parties to purchase and restore the historic Woodlawn property at 7074 Currie Farm Drive, Haymarket, VA 20169 (GPIN: 7297-36-5103). The property consists of 9.1577 acres and contains a dilapidated historic house known as Woodlawn. The property will be deeded to the county, pursuant to Rezoning Application REZ #PLN2003-00373. The house is a significant historic resource and may be eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The house was built in three stages and displays the evolution of historic architecture through the 19th century. The County is looking at a fair market price and that the following conditions, would be applied to any sale: o The house exterior shall be expertly restored, at the buyer's expense, to its original period(s)to ensure and preserve its architectural and historical integrity in order to protect and enhance those qualities that make it eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. o The house must be stabilized immediately, at the buyer's expense, upon conveyance of the property. o The buyer shall consider applying to place the building on the National Register of Historic Places. o The buyer shall place the property under conservation easement with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources or equivalent, as approved by the county. o The house can be used as a residence or other approved use in accordance to zoning regulations. o The buyer cannot apply to rezone or subdivide the property or add ancillary structures or additional dwelling units. o The property shall remain historically representative of its original development era. o The buyer shall share all architectural design drawings for all renovations with the County for a courtesy review prior to conducting any renovation work. o The buyer shall install and maintain a three-hundred fifty (350) foot by fifteen (15) foot vegetative buffer along the northern property line, planted with thirty (30) plant units per one-hundred (100) feet. o The buyer shall keep the property clear from all trash, garbage, refuse, litter, clutter, etc. o The buyer shall and keep any grass or open lawn areas manicured in a neat condition not to exceed 6" in height. o Failure to meet any requirements would result in the property reverting back to the county. |
