RFP Construction Manager - Taxiway Yankee Reconstruction Phase II (South) for Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport

The Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) is soliciting bids from general contractors, construction managers and other businesses for the Taxiway Yankee Reconstruction Phase II (South) (Project) at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). This Project includes work associated with: the removal of approximately 53,000 square yards of Portland cement and asphalt airfield pavement, with associated electrical, drainage, signs, and utility work, and construction of approximately 63,000 square yards of new taxiway Portland cement pavement and 41,000 tons of asphalt pavement and base with associated electrical (85,000 linear foot of wire), drainage (15,000 linear foot of underdrain pipe), 55,000 cubic yards of earthwork, signs, and utility work, in accordance with the drawings, specifications and other Contract Documents. It is anticipated that this Project will start construction in the spring of 2023, and be completed during the construction season of 2023, and be partially funded through the federal Airport Improvement Program (AIP). (The Contract resulting from this solicitation is subject to Davis-Bacon and Related Acts Wage Requirements.) Open cut construction work shall be construed to mean work which requires the excavation of earth including industrial, commercial and residential building site excavation and preparation, land balancing, demolition and removal of concrete and underground appurtenances, grading, paving, sewers, utilities and improvement retention, oxidation, flocculation and irrigation facilities, and also including but not limited to underground piping,conduits, steel sheeting for underground construction, and all work incidental thereto, and general excavation. For all areas except the Upper Peninsula, open cut construction work shall also be construed to mean waterfront work, piers, docks, seawalls, break walls, marinas and all incidental work.
