Description | As of February 6, 2023, the project has been awarded. A timeline for construction has not been confirmed. The project consists of demo of the existing hydraulic lift and associated components, demo portion of the concrete slab required for new work. The new bus lift and associated equipment shall be owner furnished owner installed. The contractor shall be responsible for coordinating the schedule and installation with the owner's vendor. The contractor shall deliver a turn-key installation. The project schedule is approximately 46 calendar days for turnover of construction; Notice to proceed is anticipated to occur on or about May 27th, 2022 RFI's are due by no later than April 29th, 2022. Newport Mesa Unified School District, acting by and through its Governing Board will receive sealed bids for the award of a contract for the PROJECT up to, but not later than the bid deadline. Bids shall be received in the place identified above. Whether or not bids are opened exactly at the time fixed in this notice, no bid will be received after the bid deadline. Each party submitting a bid on the PROJECT must post a bid bond or other security in the amount of 10% of the amount of the bid with the bid. Each BIDDER, simultaneously with the execution of the Contract (See General Conditions, Article 1, subjection d for definition), will be required to furnish a Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price, as well as, a Faithful Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of the Contract Price. Said Bonds shall be from an admitted California Surety satisfactory to the DISTRICT and listed in the Federal Register, issued by the Department of Treasury, and licensed in California. Said Bonds shall remain in full force and effect through all guarantee and/or warranty periods stated in the Project Documents. Use of the bond forms, without variations, as set forth in Section 11 is mandatory. The BIDDER shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professionals Code and be licensed in the applicable classifications for the trades for which the contractor is submitting a bid. The BIDDER represents and warrants that all subcontractors and sub-subcontractors shall be properly licensed at all times during the performance of the Contract. The prime contractor shall possess a B License for this contract/project. For this contract/project, all work requiring a specialty license and/or certification under applicable law shall be performed by subcontractors (to the prime contractor) who possess the required specialty licenses and/or certifications, unless the prime contractor itself holds such specialty license(s) and/or certification(s), in which case the prime contractor can self-perform such portions of the work under such specialty license(s) and/or certification(s). At the time of submitting its bid, the prime contractor shall list all work requiring a specialty license and/or certification and identify: (1) who will perform each portion of such work; and (2) the corresponding specialty license/certification, including the number and holder thereof. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the bidders bid being deemed non-responsive. This project has 3% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation goals.
