Description | A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. Temporal Bone Lab Relocation - Eighth Floor Phillips Wangensteen Building a. Phillips Wangensteen Building street address: b. 516 Delaware Street SE c. Minneapolis, MN 55455 1) Work includes: a) Complete demolition of original laboratory space in room 8-310 b) Renovation to include 15 temporal lab stations with video-recording microscopes and 1 master control station. Also included are refrigeration, hand-wash sinks, workstation sinks, dumb sinks, ware-washing sinks and dishwasher. Casework for storage including lab PPE, devices, manuals, containers, etc. c) Existing lab room 8-340 to remain and be abandoned in place until future remodel. B. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under General Contract for Construction. Deadline for RFP Questions November 20, 2023 at Noon Design Services for renovation in Phillips-Wangensteen Building (PWB), located on the east bank of the Twin Cities campus. The scope of the Work includes renovation of 8-310 (730 SQFT) to accommodate 16-20 temporal bone lab stations. Full demolition of existing casework, 3-36" fume hoods, interior walls. Each lab-type station (metal casework with epoxy tops) to have power 110V/data, sink/water, vacuum, microscope connected to video output, microscopic drill (requires above average filtration due to fine human tissue particles being released), eyewash/shower, audio-visual system. Note: The temporal bone lab was at one time considered for the Health Sciences Education Center (HSEC) so a fair amount of information already exists. The current lab is in 8-340. 8-310 (644 SQFT) which includes 8-310B (42 SQFT) and 8-310C (42 SQFT) for a total of 730 approx. The University requires the Construction Document Phase to be complete by no later than February 17, 2023. Deadline for RFP Questions October 18, 2022 at Noon |
