Description | Dukes Fire Station Project Description: Project consists of A new Fire Station for the Dukes Fire Department. Work includes a concrete foundation with a pre-engineered metal building structural system, PEMB exterior metal wall system, PEMB standing seam metal roof system, metal stud walls with gypsum board, concrete storm shelter, doors, finishes, HVAC system, plumbing systems, and electrical systems. Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work: 1. Single Prime (all trades). Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud. The envelopes containing the bids must be sealed and addressed to Dukes Fire Department c/o Hancock County Fiscal Court, 225 Main Cross Street, Hawesville, KY 42348 and designated as Bid for General Construction Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Section 3, Section 109 and E.O. 11246 and Title VI and other requirements. Minority bidders are encouraged to bid. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified check of the bidder, or a bid bond prepared on the Bid Bond Form attached hereto, duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Owner, in the amount of 5% of the bid. Such cash, checks or bid bonds will be returned promptly after the Owner and the accepted bidder have executed the contract, or if no award has been made within 30 days after the date of the opening of bids, upon demand of the bidder at any time thereafter, so long as he/she has not been notified of the acceptance of his/her bid. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, a separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form accept able to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. Liquidated Damages for Failure to Enter into Contract: The successful bidder, upon his/her failure or refusal to execute and deliver the contract and bonds required within 10 days after they have received notice of the acceptance of their bid, shall forfeit to the Owner, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal, the security deposited with their bid. Bidders shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Work is subject to liquidated damages. |
