ST RT 47 Safety Improvements Phase IV

Enhanced crosswalk visibility and signing; addition of countdown pedestrian signals; continuation of a 10 foot wide shared use path from Fourth Ave. to the SB Interstate ramp; removal of 3 drives on the south side of SR 47 near Fifth Avenue; construction of a concrete median at Fifth Ave. to prevent left turns exiting Fifth Avenue; reconstruction of a commercial drive approach on the south side of the Sixth Ave. intersection and installation of a mast arm traffic signal with backing plates at the same intersection; widen the south side of SR 47 at Sixth Ave and add a U-turn lane for WB traffic to return east; Removal and replacement of existing guardrail from Fifth Ave. to Fourth Ave. with concrete median; reconstruct pavement on south lanes of SR 47 at Fourth Ave. and install a concrete left turn lane; mill and resurface SR 47 along the entire length of the project and upgrade signs and pavement markings.
