Description

The existing AC unit that cools the laboratory does not provide sufficient cooling for the amount of heat generation from laboratory equipment present and the hot summer months for August and September. There has been a couple of times when the laboratory equipment has reached high temperatures that have caused the laboratory specimens to be non-valid. The laboratory is approximately 17 foot by 19 foot by 9 foot high. The laboratory needs approximately 3 tons of cooling and 300 CFM flow design to ensure the building is cooled properly. The laboratory does not require heating due to the heat being supplied by the primary HVAC system from the building. The existing Air Conditioning Unit for the laboratory has a condensing unit outside. The blower unit is located inside the building located in the attic. Currently all of the air is taken from inside the clinic, and is blown into the laboratory.
