Description | 1. Description: This bid includes the provision of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the installation of approximately 750 linear feet of 8-foot-high, zinc coated then black vinyl coated, (PVC), chain link fencing, including two six-foot swing gates. This project will take place at MacArthur Intermediate School. 1. General Provisions: A. All work must be conducted in a professional manner by trained and competent personnel, following ASTM F567 standards and other regulations of the State, counties, and cities. Unsatisfactory work may result in re-work at the Contractor's expense and potential contract termination. B. The Contractor must possess the appropriate licenses in accordance with California state laws. C. Precautions must be taken to prevent injury or hazards to the Santa Ana Unified School District, minimizing inconvenience to the district. D. Operations must be conducted to avoid damage to the district’s property or adjacent properties. Any damages must be restored at the Contractor's expense to the satisfaction of the district. E. Failure to commence or diligently pursue the work may result in contract termination. F. Special installations must meet the specified workmanship and material quality levels. G. The worksite must be left clean and neat. Failure to do so will require the Contractor to rectify the situation at no extra cost to the district. All removals must be disposed of off-site or delivered to a designated location within the district’s boundaries as directed by the Director of Maintenance and Operations or designee. Installation: A. Items must be plumb, level, accurately fitted, and free from distortion or defects. B. Field welding must adhere to the A WS DI. I. standards. C. Concrete footings. D. Post holes should be dug 6 inches deeper than the bottom of the post. E. All footings will include a 1” crown at the top of concrete to shed water. F. All other posts should be set at 36 inches into the native soil. G. Line posts should not exceed 10 feet on-center and set at a depth of 36 inches. |
