Description

Phase 1: Construction (Internal Medicine) Internal Medicine’s (IM) space no longer meets the needs of the department, and it is not adequately sized for their current caseload. Therefore, the VMC wishes to expand the footprint of their existing space by reassigning four adjacent exam rooms to IM. The IM space along with the four exam rooms will be renovated to increase IM’s current footprint from 770sf to approximately 1,485sf. The new IM space will include two learning conference rooms, workstations, examination bays and patient housing. During construction IM will relocate to swing space within the VMC and will move back once construction is complete. Phase 2: Construction (Pharmacy and Dermatology) The VMC wishes to improve Pharmacy’s workflow and create a customer facing prescription pick-up window. Pharmacy’s footprint will increase from 1,279sf to 1,593sf. Their new space will include external and internal pick-up windows, work area, dispensing space, drug storage, compounding, bulk storage, and receiving. Pharmacy will stay in their existing space until their new space is renovated. Dermatology’s new space will be built-out during this phase as well. Their space will increase from 582sf to 604sf and includes a treatment area and learning conference room. Dermatology and Cardiology will move to swing space within the VMC to allow for this phase of construction to occur. Pharmacy and Dermatology will move into their new space once this phase of construction is complete. Phase 3: Construction (Cardiology) Once Pharmacy vacates their current space it will be renovated to create the new Cardiology Department. Cardiology’s footprint will grow from 764sf to 1054sf and includes a treatment area, learning conference room and two echocardiogram rooms. Cardiology will move into their new space once construction is complete. This phase of construction concludes the project.
