| Description | The highway garage is a 40 year old pre-engineered metal building 60 feet wide by 85 feet long. The town requests bids for removing the existing roof and existing roof insulation blankets and installing a new metal roof and new insulation. The scope of roofing includes all trim, clips and accessories for a weatherproof enclosure. Attachment to the existing girts shall be with 2” stand-off clips that prevent compression of the roof insulation over the existing purlins and main roof frames or with 1” thermal blocks. Roofing shall be 26 gauge ribbed steel panels with a zinc coating and painted finish. Refer to engineers report for structural performance requirements and basis of design panel recommendation. Roof insulation shall be R-25 batts with LAMTEC-WMP-50 or equal reflective scrim facing installed using the long tab banded method with sealed lap joints. An alternate bid shall be provided to increase the R-value for 25 to R-36 through an additional layer or unfaced R-11 batts. |
