Timber Sale

This timber sale is a combination of marked and logger-select thinning within mature slash pine plantations that were previously row thinned. Trees to remove in the marked stands are marked with blue paint at eye level. In the logger select stands remove diseased, defective, and suppressed trees, followed by a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach a residual density of 50 square feet of basal area per acre. Dominant trees shall not be harvested. The District estimates the volume of timber conveyed in this Agreement to be 2,355 tons of pulpwood, 812 tons of Chip-n-saw, and 100 tons of sawtimber, but there is no guarantee that the volume is present.
