Description | Project summary: The construction of a 1500 + S.F. Splash Pad and 780 + S.F. restroom building including site demo, site grading, sidewalks, concrete paving, fencing and site utilities. Two Hundred and Forty (240) calendar days are allowed for the completion of this project. All bids must be on blank forms provided in the Specifications and submitted in its entirety. A cashiers check drawn on an Alabama bank or a Bidders Bond, payable to the City of Citronelle for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid, but no more than ten thousand dollars, ($10,000), shall be filed with the proposal, the Bidders Bond being prepared on the form specified and signed by a bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Alabama. A Performance Bond in the form and terms approved by the City in an amount not less than the contract price will be required at the signing of the contract. A labor and materials bond in form and terms approved by the City in an amount not less than the contract price, insuring payment for all labor and materials, shall also be required at the signing of the contract. In addition, the Contractor must furnish to the Owner at the time of the signing of the contract a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the specifications. The right is reserved to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of said Contract. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Section 3, Segregated Facility, Section 109 and E.O. 11246. Liquidated damages for non-completion of the work within the time limit agreed upon will be assessed in accordance with the terms of the Contract. Specifications are on file and may be seen at the office of the Citronelle City Hall, 19135 S. Main St. Citronelle, AL 36522 and at the offices of WAS Design Inc. (WAS) at 256 Wacker Lane North, Mobile, AL 36608. The cost of and return of additional sets of Specifications shall be in accordance with Section 39-2-3 in the Code of Alabama 1975. No specifications will be issued to contractors later than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the time indicated above for receiving bids. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly licensed and qualified to submit a proposal for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. In addition, non-residents of the State, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. Prior to the award of a competitively bid contract to a Contractor having one or more employees in the State of Alabama, Alabama law requires that the Contractor provide the Owner proof of enrollment in E-Verify (see www.uscis.gov/everify) and to execute a certificate of compliance with the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer And Citizen Protection Act (Act 2011-535), as amended by Act 2012-491. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Owner, SITE: SPLASH PAD; RESTROOM BUILDING; ADA PARKING INSTALLATION GRADING: ADA ACCESSIBLE AMENITIES AND PATHWAYS UTILITIES: AS REQUIRED FOR PROPER FUNCTION OF SITE DESIGN HARDSCAPE: CONCRETE PAVING; RETAINING WALLS; FENCING; BOLLARDS/BARRIERS FURNITURE: BENCHES; DRINKING FOUNTAIN; TRASH RECEPTACLES Questions regarding this project should be directed to the Project Manager at ctoland@was-design.com no later than three (3) business days prior to the bid opening. |
