RAA Sand Plains Railcar Bridge Replacement

Remove and demolish the existing 12’ wide x 41’ long steel railcar bridge superstructure and replace it with a new 14’ wide x 50’ long prefabricated steel bridge. Work consists of providing new auger cast piles, a concrete pile cap and deadman to support the new bridge loads, a drainage layer of stone beneath/around the new concrete foundations, additional riprap within the stream to protect the existing abutments to remain, excavation and fill as necessary for the new foundations, new approach gravel to the bridge, approach railings, and slope restoration. The new bridge will be self weathering steel with a timber deck wear surface and steel guardrails. The bridge downtime needs to be limited to 6 weeks since it is used to access property owned by others
