Description

The Contractor shall provide all management, licenses, laboratory testing, tools, supplies, equipment, transportation and labor to develop and implement an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plan for all buildings located on the campus of The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, 325 East H Street, Iron Mountain, MI 49801 in a manner that will ensure the health and general wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors. IPM is a process for achieving long term, environmentally sound pest suppression through the use of a wide variety of technological and management practices. Control strategies in an IPM Program extend beyond the application of pesticides to include structural and procedural modifications that reduce the food, water, harborage, and access used by pests. The following types of pests are common on this campus, and their abatement should be specifically addressed in the IPM and used to determine workload: ANTS, ARACHNIDS, ROACHES, BEDBUGS, WATERBUGS, SILVERFISH, BEETLES, FLEAS, MOSQUITOES, CHIGGERS, FLIES, MOTHS, LICE OR OTHER INSECTS: MICE, GOPHERS, RATS, SKUNKS AND OTHER RODENTS. It shall be the Contractor s responsibility to remove and properly dispose of bee and wasp nests as well as providing an adequate number (to control any problems) of devices used to attract and electrocute flying insects that are attracted by light (as well as other flying insects).
