Description

The Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority, (GACRAA), is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from those interested in providing Design/Build services for an Intermodal Transportation and Parking Facility. It is the intent of the Airport to enter into a Cost-Reimbursable Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Contract based upon a modified AIA A141 Standard Form of Agreement between Owner and Design-Builder. The scope of work includes the design and construction of a 420+/- space parking garage facility, attached Intermodal Transportation Depot, and associated site work improvements at the Gainesville Regional Airport. Parking Facility The garage will be located southeast of the existing airport terminal and will consist of (+/-) 420 parking spaces located on four levels comprising approximately 180,000 square feet. The structural basis of design is a post-tensioned concrete structure with lateral forces resisted by concrete frames. Alternate construction methods may be considered in the second phase of the Construction process. Vehicular elements include four tiers of parking bays with a speed ramping system, two entry/exit locations on the ground level, electric vehicle charging spaces (twelve spaces initially, with opportunity to expand) and code required accessible parking located on the ground level. Pedestrian elements include an elevator tower with two cabs and two stair towers in the northwest and southeast corners, and a stair tower in each of the northeast and southeast corners. Additional program elements located on the ground floor include two unisex restrooms, a janitor room, and incidental utility rooms. The garage will be located southeast of the airport terminal which will require a covered pedestrian walkway to link both facilities. Inter-Modal Transit Center This element includes three queuing lanes for taxis and limos, as well as two regional bus queuing lanes. Adjacent to the bus queuing lanes will be a shade canopy that is approximately 24 by 90. This depot will be located along the west side of parking garage. The bus canopy, pedestrian canopy, lighting for all canopies, all sidewalk work, all required earthwork for taxi lane and bus lane, all final pavement and concrete for taxi lane and bus lane, as well as bathrooms and associated utilities for bathrooms will have pricing, to be separated from the rest of the facility. Site Work The Airport entrance road from NE 39th Avenue will be adjusted to service the new Intermodal transportation & parking facility. The existing at-grade parking lot will be removed to facilitate the construction of the new facility. Utility improvements at this site should be constructed according to construction document requirements. It should include all related improvements according to the approved final design, plans, and specifications including staking, erosion control, security, tree protection, site preparation, on site storm water infiltration or disposal, and all services necessary to complete the Project. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBEs) firms are encouraged to participate. The Authority and Contractor will not discriminate against any entity because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. GACRAA reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received in response to this RFP as determined to be in the best interest of the Airport. PROJNO: P404190005
