Type C Asphalt for Various Roads in Darlington County The County of Darlington is requesting sealed bids for the paving of S. Myrtle Dr., Myrtlewood Dr., Longleaf Drive., and Lookout Dr. in Darlington and Hartsville; both are part of Darlington County, South Carolina. The scope of the work consists of placing approximately 200 lbs. per Sy., Type C hot-laid asphalt concrete on a prepared base by the owner. The successful bidder must comply with the owner's schedule and must have a certified technician on-site for quality control. The owner may consider informal any bid not prepared and submitted following the provisions hereof and may waive any informalities or reject any bids. Any bid may be withdrawn before the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. No bidder may withdraw a bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. All questions concerning this bid are to be submitted electronically no later than June 21, 2023, by 11:00 AM. All inquiries and responses will be distributed to all vendors who know to have received the Bid documents. The County will not be responsible for or bound by any oral instructions made by any employee(s) of the County regarding this bid. The Bid must be accompanied by a Bid guaranty which shall not be less than 5 percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid. At the option of the bidder, the guaranty may be a certified check, bank draft, negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at per value), or bid bond in the form attached. The bid bond shall be within the maximum amount specified for such Company in said Circular 570. No Bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guarantee. Certified checks or bank drafts must be made payable to the order of the Owner. Cash deposits will not be accepted. The Bid guaranty shall insure the execution of the Agreement and the furnishing of the surety bond or bonds by the successful bidder, all as required by the Contract Documents. Performance and Payment Bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price, shall be required of the successful bidder if the contract is awarded
