Description | Construct trenches along the sidewalk at the temporary trailer complex to remove standing water and transition it to a grass 9swale. Construct two trenches along the alignments depicted in the provided sketch. There will be one trench situated along the west and north sides of concrete sidewalks which transitions to a shallow grassed swale and discharges westward into an onsite infiltration basin. There will be one trench situated in the grassed area between the west and north ends of a trailer office and the nearest sidewalks before extending northward until the invert approaches the surrounding sloped grade. The trenches are created with a cross section provides a shelf of undisturbed soil on each side that is three (3) to four (4) inches below the adjacent ground surface and approximately six (6) inches wide each, with a vertically walled trench four (4) to six (6) inches deep at its shallowest location, and approximately six (6) inches wide. The trenches are lined with geotextile fabric and filled with #57 stone, with the top surface of trench open and the stone formed into a dome. The edges of the dome are even with the abutting grass and slightly below (within an inch) of the surface of the abutting sidewalk. The inverts of the trenches are flat. The trench that discharges to the west will transition into a 5H:1V side-sloped shallow grassed swale that extends as far as necessary to discharge onto the side slope of the onsite infiltration basin. |
