Description The Davis Tech Allied Health B uilding will be located on the main campus in Kaysville Utah. The building will host programs for CNA, Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Surgical Technology, Radiology Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Health Information Technology, and EMT/Firefighter. The program consists of 85,000 square feet of lab, classroom, office and gathering space divided evenly between two stories. The structure is anticipated to be classified as IIB construction and will likely consist of moment or braced frame steel. Because of poor soils conditions, shear walls are very unlikely. The building envelope will likely consist of brick, metal or phenolic panels, and curtain wall / storefront glazing as appropriate. The mechanical system will be stand along (not tied to a central plant) and will include roof -top air handlers. The entire project will meet the DFCM Higher Performance Building System. The building will be located directly south of the existing atrium structure, replacing a turf field and portions of an existing parking lot. A soils report has been performed for the site. It indicates poor soil conditions (site class F) and will require at a minimum, the installation of grade beams beneath the entire structure. Deep soil remediation may also be required. Site improvements included basic landscape design around the new structure as well new parking areas adjacent to the primary site. students and faculty. This building will be a model for the health care community.
