Description | As of December 1, 2022, an engineer has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The State of Michigan is seeking a Professional Services Consultant (PSC) who will provide professional design and construction administration services for the Island Lake Recreation Area. The Professional will provide Phase 300 assessment of the HMA pavements throughout the Recreation Area and provide recommendation for repair/replacement as needed from full replacements, HMA on existing aggregate base, HMA on pulverized existing and or crack seal/chip seal as needed. Recommendations/alternatives will be reviewed by the project team. As part of the HMA evaluation the Professional will examine and make recommendations for the existing biking and vehicular circulation at the entrance contact station. The Professional will also be responsible to assess the lift stations and propose renovations/replacements for both lift stations. The sanitary lift stations continue to have maintenance issues for park staff to maintain. The DNR-PRD project team will prioritize the improvements once Phase 300 design and cost estimates are completed. Once priorities are established, the Professional will provide completed bidding documents and permit/code reviews as necessary for the work (Phase 500 services). The documents will either be used for advertisement for construction bidding or provided to a Construction Manager (CM) for construction. The PSC shall be responsible for verifying and gathering accurate base information, preparation of all necessary construction documents, approval of these documents by the required governing agencies, and final as-built record drawings. There shall be the standard 50 percent and 90 percent reviews for the Phase 300 and 500 services, with additional meetings dedicated to idea generation and conceptual design development with the project team. Phase 300&500 plans may be used for assignment for construction to the CM selected by the State Investigation/evaluations and Phase 300 Schematic Design to be completed by March 2023 for presentation to the selected CM. Final Design to be completed by August 2023. Construction Services to be rendered in coordination with the CM and dates to be determined ACCEPTING RFP QUESTIONS UNTIL: 5:00 p.m., EASTERN on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
