Description

The scope of work includes construction of sidewalks, crosswalks, signage, rapid-flash beacons, curbing, asphalt pavement, landscaping, and associated site work at various locations throughout the Town of Niskayuna. Contract No. 1 - Critical Pedestrian Connections - Sidewalk Improvements (Various Locations), generally consisting of installation of all items in the Contract Documents including but not limited to clearing and preparing the site for construction, installation of concrete & bituminous sidewalks, signage, landscaping, retaining walls, and pavement markings. Proposals shall be submitted with detailed specifications of the items proposed to be furnished on the form of proposal obtainable from the aforesaid Town Clerk, which formal proposal will contain accompanying instructions to bidders and a copy of the specifications. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid, drawn upon a national or state bank or trust company, to the order of the Town of Niskayuna, or a bond with sureties in a penal sum equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid, conditioned that if Bidders Bid is accepted, Bidder will enter into a Contract for the same and that Bidder will execute such further security as may be required for the performance of the Contract. Separate Performance and Payment Bonds, each equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, will be required of the successful Bidder, and the bonds shall be satisfactory to the Town of Niskayuna counsel. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment observed and minimum wages rates to be paid under contract as determined by the New York State Department of Labor and included in Section 00 73 10. The contract for the above items will be awarded by the Town Board to the lowest responsible bidder. In cases, where two or more responsible bidders submit identical bids as to price, the Town Board may award the contract to either of such bidders. The Town Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any alternate proposal not significantly altering the bid specification. No bids received may be withdrawn by any bidder for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of the bid opening.
