2023 Chip and Sealing Project

Site work and paving for a road / highway in New Springfield, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway. Locations- Chip and Sealing of Brungard Road, Felger Road, Hofmeister Road, Honey Creek Road, and Yerian Road The work shall be performed in accordance with plans and specifications on file in the office of the Springfield Township Trustees The trustees reserve the right to waive any technicality and to accept any combination of bids deemed most favorable to the Township and the right to reject any or all bids. The attention of bidders is directed to the special statutory provisions of R.C. 4115.05 et. seq. governing the prevailing rates of wages to be paid to laborers and mechanics on public improvements, and also to R.C. 153.59 regarding nondiscrimination. Attention is also directed to statutory requirements regarding minimum wages, overtime pay, worker s compensation coverage and the licensing of corporations organized under the laws of states other than Ohio. Bidder is to be a certified contractor in the State of Ohio. Each proposal must be accompanied with a certified check or cashier s check on a solvent bank in Mahoning County or a bid bond in the sum of 10% of the contract. Should any bid be rejected, such bond or check shall be returned to the bidder. Once a bid has been accepted a 100% performance bond will be required upon execution and acceptance of the contract. 1. O.D.O.T. Item 422 chip and seal specifications shall apply for all work. 2. Stone will be picked up at Subtropolis Mining and billed to Springfield Township. 3. Contractor is responsible for hauling all material to the job site. 4. A smooth drum and rubber tire rollers will be used. 5. Road prep sweeping will be done by contractor before chip and seal. 6. Inspector will receive all plant tickets for each job. 7. Each road will be its own job and plant tickets will show it. start project by June 11, 2023 and complete this project by August 1, 2023
