Clare Middle School Water Main Replacement

1. Furnish all staking and layout for scope of work. Call Miss Dig prior to starting work. 2. Remove and replace any concrete or asphalt that is required to be removed / or damaged to complete the new water main installation. Match adjacent concrete sidewalk height and thickness when replacing, cut sidewalk back to nearest joint when replacing. 3. Remove and replace piping in meter vault up to shutoff valve (meter may be reused if possible, confirm with the City of Clare prior to Bidding if that is acceptable or new meter is required. Base bid shall be as directed by City of Clare) 4. Furnish and install approximately 175 LF of 4” C900 PVC watermain from meter vault to inside building basement. Line shall be replaced from Connection to Connection. 5. Chlorinate and Bacteria test new 4” watermain per Clare County Health Department Requirements. Provide passing test results to owner for records. 6. Core hole in concrete wall as necessary to run new piping for connection. After installation a watertight seal shall be applied on the interior and exterior of the foundation wall around the pipe. Sealing material shall be similar or match adjacent wall surface and color. 7. Connect new 4” pipe to existing flange on copper water pipe 8. Cap and abandon old watermain outside meter vault and outside basement in green belt 9. Provide Owner and if required City of Clare As – Built Drawings upon completion with actual dimensions based upon permeant building corners. 10. Backfill and compact trench with soils onsite unless rocks are present, if rocky material is present Class II sand shall be imported and used as backfill. Export all remain spoils. 11 Place clean topsoil over affected areas, rake, seed, mulch, water upon completion until grass has germinated.
