Description | This solicitation is being conducted by the Georgia Department of Transportation under its authority to procure services ancillary to the construction and maintenance of a public road (as defined in O.C.G.A 32-1-3 (24) as provided for in O.C.G.A 32-2-61 (c) and (d) (1) (D). Only contractors deemed as Qualified Contractors to provide Pavement Preservation and Maintenance Services during the prequalification process having an MSA agreement beginning with (48400-410-0000034480) are eligible to participate in this Invitation to Bid (ITB) / Request for Quote (RFQ). Through this ITB/RFQ the Georgia Department of Transportation (hereinafter, the State Entity, Department, Agency, or GDOT) is seeking bids for Pavement Preservation and Maintenance Services. All respondents to this ITB/RFQ are subject to same terms and conditions of the MMSA 48400-410-0000034480, all respondents to this ITB/RFQ are subject to same terms and conditions of the RFQC 48400-410-0000033480, subsequent awarded contract, and the Invitation to Bid (ITB) / Request for Quote (RFQ) Form, and are cautioned to completely review the entire ITB/RFQ and follow instructions carefully. The Department reserves the right to modify existing provisions or include additional provisions, which are not currently addressed herein and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive technicalities and in-formalities at its discretion. Deadline for Written Questions from Contractors 2/3/2023 2:00 PM MMathison@dot.ga.gov 1 MP- 0-2 / Butts SR 16 Mill & Inlay Various Locations/ Patching, crack seal 2 MP 8--10.01/ Butts Sr 16 Mill & Inlay Various Locations/ Patching, crack seal 3 MP 0-8.34/ Butts Sr 42 Mill & Inlay Various Locations/ Patching, crack seal Work under this contract consists of Mill & Inlay, Crack Seal, restriping, and RPM installation on SR 16 MP 0-2, 8-10.01 and SR 42 MP 0-8.34 in Butts County. Contractor shall furnish all other labor, materials, equipment, and means of transportation, traffic control and incidentals necessary to perform work. This contract shall be bid per line item. A. Locations are described in the attachment. The areas to be mill and inlayed have been marked on the roadway and any additional quantities shall be placed at the discretion of the engineer. B. All patching locations marked for repaving are to be milled to a variable depth and inlayed with 2.5 inches (275 pounds) of RECYCLED ASPH 12.5 MM SUPERPAVE, GP 1 OR 2, INCL BITUM MATL & H LIME. There are some locations that contain a dip in the road. Dips shall be corrected resulting in a deviance in thickness up or down as needed. Stringline the dips to correct the areas. C. All milled areas shall be paved back before reopening the roadway. D. All existing Traffic Striping that is disturbed by the mill and inlay shall be replaced including arrows, stop bars, words, cross walks, hashed areas, symbols, skip, RR Symbols, single and double lane lines. This striping shall be replaced with like kind. E. All mill and inlay areas shall be smooth. All areas, as determined by the Engineer, that are not smooth shall be repaired at no additional cost to the Department. It is the contractor's responsibility to ensure smooth well drained patches. F. There are approximately 4580 square yards of bumps that shall be milled to smooth the roadway on SR 42. Mill areas with the milling machine or milling attachment on the skid steer. These areas do not require repaving. G. The Contractor shall haul the milling from this project to the Butts County Headquarters at 1001 Brownlee Rd., Jackson, Ga, 30233. The contractor shall contact the routine Maintenance Forman, Chad Taylor (706-392-2056) or Daniel Faircloth (706-741-3608) at a minimum of 72 hours before starting work to drop off milling. H. Crack seal for this project will be required and will be paid as shoulder miles. o SR 16 MP 0-2: Approximately 9 lane miles of crack seal o SR 16 MP 8-10.01: Approximately 5 lane miles of crack seal o SR 42 MP 0-8.34: Approximately 17 lane miles of crack seal I. There are approximately 31 lane miles of crack seal that shall be bid as 15.5 shoulder miles. J. After the completion of crack sealing, the mainline traffic striping shall be restriped with 5" paint as per section 652 (High Build Paint) and should be included in the Striping lump sum line item. Traffic Striping shall be installed as per specifications. After the completion of the installation of Traffic Striping, Raised Pavement Markers shall be installed on the Center line as well as each passing lane or additional lanes. New RPM's shall be installed as per specification 654, and Construction Standard and Detail T15A and T15C after the removal of existing RPM's. Any temporary striping needed for this project shall be included in the cost of traffic control. |
