Description | Cutoff for Questions: Date: April 6, 2023 Time: 12:00 pm EST West Virginia University on behalf of its Board of Governors ("BOG") located in Morgantown, West Virginia ("WVU" or "University") is initiating this Request for Proposals ("RFP") to solicit proposals from qualified, experienced, and licensed, contractor for Boiler Repairs at the WVU Coliseum facility. Coliseum Address: Monongahela Boulevard, Morgantown, WV 26505 Brief Scope of Work: 1. Remove and replace boiler tubes, burners, gas valves on three gas fired steam boilers as described in the RFP documents. 2. Repair/replace boiler flue as described in the RFP documents. 3. This work will be completed in one phase with the requirement that at least one boiler (two preferred) remain operational at all times during the completion of this contract. 4. Work scopes for boilers B-1 and B-2 are included in base bid. 5. Alternate M-1 includes the work scope for boiler B-3 indicated on drawing and note F. 6. Alternate M-2 includes new sheet metal baffle at existing louvers. 7. Alternate M-3 is the replacement of flue from boiler B-4 to the "T" as described. 8. There are also unit prices requested as indicated on the bid summary form for tuber replacement in each of the boiler's B-1 and B-3, and the provision of stainless flue liner. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES - The Contractor shall achieve Substantial and Final Completion of the entire Work as calculated or indicated above. The date of issuance of the West Virginia University's Notice to Proceed or Executed Agreement shall be used to calculate Substantial and Final Completion of contract time stated in number of consecutive calendar days or established date. Time is of the essence. Liquidated Damages shall be Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per Calendar Day of delay in achieving Substantial Completion and Five Hundred ($500) per Calendar Day of delay in achieving Final Completion. REQUIRED BONDING The following Bonds will be required with award: Performance Bond Labor and Material Bond Visitors and Contractors Self-Screening Checklist SUBSTANTIAL AND FINAL COMPLETION - The Contractor shall achieve Substantial and Final Completion of the entire Work as calculated or indicated below. The date of issuance of the West Virginia University's Notice to Proceed and/or Contact shall be used to calculate Substantial and Final Completion if contract time stated below is in number of calendar days. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve and spread, WVU is monitoring the situation closely and will periodically update its policies and procedures based on current guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization and other federal, state and local agencies. |
