Description | SEALED PROPOSALS will be received by the Hunterdon Central Regional Board of Education for the Softball Dugouts & JV Baseball Field Repair at Hunterdon Central Regional High School located in Flemington, Hunterdon County, New Jersey Located at: 84 Route 31 Flemington, Hunterdon County, New Jersey 08822 . Any questions or requests for clarifications shall be submitted in writing to the Architect's office no later than 12:00pm March 3, 2023. E-mail questions to cwilkerson@ssparchitects.com Scope- The work generally consists of: 1. Site clearing and phased demolition as required for the proposed construction. 2. Re-grade and reconfigure natural grasssportsfields and re-surface with screened imported topsoil and sports grass sod. 3. Upgraded electrical service to the sports field. 4. Construction of new exterior walkways, barrier free routes, and paved access driveways. 5. Surfacing upgradesto existing baseball and softball fields, including sports grasssod and seeded lawn. 6. Installation of underground electric and data conduits and hand holes. 7. Construction of new pre-cast structural concrete dugouts. 8. Construction of new skinned infield surface & warning tracks. 9. Construction of new fencing and fence safety cap and fence post padding. 10. Other site work as indicated on the Construction Plan Set. 11. Restoration of vegetated areas, the spreading of topsoil, seeding, & mulching as required. 12. Control of accessto the construction and staging areas with the installation of temporary fencing, signs, and construction traffic control. 13. Control ofsoil erosion and sediment during the term of the contract or until permanent ground cover has been established. 14. Engage a certified materials testing and inspection company to verify that the construction materials and procedures related to all site work (including; pavements, walls, utilities, and related appurtenances) in the project, meet or exceed the project specifications. 15. Engage a licensed geotechnical (soils) engineer to dictate the soil compaction measures used to prepare subgrade soils for site work. The geotechnical engineer shall also review the soil compaction test reports prepared by the materials testing and inspection company and must certify that all specifications have been met. This requirement applies to all areas of fill, retaining wall construction, pavement areas, concrete plazas, utility trenches, and foundations below walls, stairs, and ramps. 16. Engage a NJ licensed professional land surveyor to lay out the work. 17. Final cleanup, owner walk through and punch list. Any questions or requests for clarifications shall be submitted in writing to the Architect's office no later than 12:00pm March 3, 2023. The Owner and Architect have determined that only DPMC Trade Classifications listed below are deemed eligible to bid this project. C054 Site Work C060 Athletic Fields/Tracks/Courts Each bidder must deposit with his Bid, a security in the amount of not less than 10% of the Bid, but in no case to exceed $20,000, in the form of a certified check or standard bid bond and subject to the conditions provided in Section B: "Instructions to Bidders". The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract and satisfactory in form, execution and sufficiency of surety. All bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., Affirmative Action Against Discrimination (N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.), Executive Order 11246 regarding Equal Employment Opportunity, and Chapter 33, Laws of 1977, regarding Disclosure of Partners and Stockholders. A non-collusion affidavit, certificate of pre-qualification, and affidavit as to total amount of uncompleted contracts must accompany each bid. All contractors are subject to background checks. Refer to Section B Instructions to Bidders for additional information. All bids shall be irrevocable, not subject to withdrawal and shall stand available for a period of (60) sixty days. THE HUNTERDON CENTRAL REGIONAL BOARD OF EDUCATION BOARD OF EDUCATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY AND ALL BIDS, TO WAIVE ANY INFORMALITIES IN ANY BID, OR TO AWARD SEPARATE CONTRACTS OR A LUMP SUM CONTRACT (AS APPLICABLE), IN SUCH A MANNER AS SHALL BE, IN THE JUDGMENT OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, DEEMED IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, ALL IN CONFORMITY WITH THE LAW. The Bidder hereby affirms that all Work embodied within this Contract will be Substantially Complete prior to August 18, 2023. All work embodied within this contract, including receipt of all closeout documentation and the completion of all punchlist work, must be completed no later than thirty days after the issuance of the punchlist. overall project scope: 1. the overall project scope includes the following major components: - installation of all required soil erosion & sediment control pu\n measures. - inspection and materials testing of all construction by an outside certified materials testing and inspection company. - professional land surveying work needed to establish the horizontal and vertical location of all proposed site improvements and as needed to furnish an ''as-built" survey. - demolition of all surface improvements and foundations that conflict with theproposed site construction. - clearing of vegetation, stripping of topsoil & performance of earthwork needed to establish required subgrades - construction of softball field and baseball field improvements as shown on the plans. - construction of concrete curbs, walkways, pavements, and related hardscape. - construction of surface drainage systems consisting of inlets, area drains, and all piping and clean outs as needed. - construction of new pre-cast structural concrete dugouts. - installation of underground electrical conduits, hand holes, and equipment for on-field power in new dugouts. - installation of a new backstop and new vinyl-coated chain link fencing and gates. - restoration of all disturbed & re-graded areas (that are not being developed) to lawn. - off-site disposal of all waste and excess materials from the project site. |
