Description | Construction Manager Services for a new Advanced Operations Center, located on the east bank of the Twin Cities campus. Refer to the Request for Proposal documents (found in the Attachments tab) for full project details/requirements. The Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota (the University) is requesting Proposals to provide construction manager services for a new Advanced Operations Center, located on the east bank of the Twin Cities campus (the Project). The proposed Advanced Operations Center (AOC) will include a two (2) story 33,000 sq ft University mission critical Tier III (alike) facility that will relocate the network operations center function from 2218 University Avenue along with the data center functions for the West Bank Office Building (WBOB). The University conducted a Predesign in 2022-2023 which analyzed the baseline project objectives for this facility along with studying utility/ fiber routing and site selection. The new facility will be sited at the north end of Lot C33 located on the East Bank Campus (northwest of Huntington Bank Stadium). The Project is located within an active part of the campus and adjacent to sensitive research facilities where vibration and noise can be a concern. CMaR to consider and develop construction methods to mitigate noise and vibration. CMaR will facilitate vibration monitoring that aligns with research criteria requirements. In addition, the Project abuts non-University owned property which includes Rail Road and the City of Minneapolis. The CMaR will be required to work closely with Planning, Space, and Real Estate (PSRE) to ensure proper protocols/ jurisdictional requirements are followed. The University has established a construction budget for the Cost of the Work in the amount of $38,400,000 (current dollars, no escalation). The University requires the Project to be substantially complete by no later than November 28, 2025.
