Description

Provide all labor, tools, equipment, materials, and supervision required to: replace the existing roof system covering the 17’ x 37’ roof, including soffit and fascia replacement, service entrance replacement and replacing the two exterior doors and frames. The QWI RCAG facility is located off Conneauttree Road near Waterford, Pennsylvania. The work to be performed under this contract shall include, but is not limited to, the following: 1. The removal and proper disposal of the existing built up or membrane roofing material, ballast, insulation or backer board, flashing, and roof edge. Remove existing soffit and fascia. Remove existing service entrance support equipment. 2. Furnish and install new aluminum soffit and fascia. 3. Replace electric service entrance by removing existing meter socket and conduit and installing a new meter socket with continuous rigid galvanized steel conduit (RGS) through the concrete decking and extending three (3) feet above the roof surface. Provide a service entrance cap and extend existing wires to comply with FAA and local electric company regulations. Repair siding after the new meter box is installed. 4. Temporary covering of exposed roof area during inclement weather or if the roof is left exposed over night. The contractor shall also cover interior equipment prior to removal of the roofing system. 5. The installation of new polyisocyanurate insulation, Dens-Deck (DD) roofboard and modified bitumen roof system. The roof system shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and directives. 6. The removal of the two existing doors, frames, thresholds, door hardware, and appurtenances. 7. The installation of new insulated fire doors, frames, thresholds, door hardware, and appurtenances and the selected replacement of door hardware, security devices, and other appurtenances. The existing locksets and devices shall be turned over to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) 8. Painting new doors, frames and any surfaces or materials damaged during construction. The exterior vinyl siding shall be restored. 9. The contractor is responsible for the removal and proper disposal of materials removed from the existing roof system and building along with site cleanup and restoration of all damaged areas. 10. Upon completion of work the contractor shall notify the COR so that the work may be inspected for completion. Upon acceptance, the contractor shall submit a warranty for the complete roofing system of not less than fifteen (15) or twenty (20) years (based on roofing systems specified). The warranty will be a no dollar limit (NDL) guarantee. The contractor will determine if the manufacturer must inspect the roof to issue the required warranty and bear all costs associated with the inspection.
