Pettibone Drive South Reconstruction

The work under this contract consists primarily of, but not limited to, removal of concrete and asphalt pavements; removal of beam guard; removal of unsuitable soils; salvaging topsoil, base course and signs; granular backfill; asphalt & concrete paving; gravel shouldering; steel plate beam guard; traffic control and site restoration. The work also includes abandoning a well and installing a “deadman” anchor. The work will occur within the Mississippi River floodway and within the highway right-of-way of USH 14/61. The City of La Crosse shall obtain the permits needed to perform the work within the floodway and right-of-way, as well as a land disturbance permit from Wisconsin DNR. Wetlands that exist adjacent to the work area will be delineated by the City, and Contractor shall not disturb any wetlands and shall maintain wetland boundary markings during construction. No trees will be removed as part of the project although some minor amounts of fill will be placed adjacent to trees, and Contractor shall protect trees from damage during the placement of such fill.
